Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
Responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining methods, operation sequence and processes in the fabrication of parts, components, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies
Estimate manufacturing cost, determines time standards, and makes recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines
As required, maintains records and reporting systems for coordination of manufacturing operations
Work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of identifiable factors
Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
Provide engineering skills and solutions to achieve production goals
Assist and lead in the identification and resolution of product quality issues
Design process experiments to determine and optimize important process variables and product parameters
Participate on and/or lead 6-sigma DMAIC or DESGN Performance Excellence projects. Use data tools such as KT, DMAIC, and others to drive continuous improvement
Education & Experience
Bachelor and /or above
4-8 years experience in related process or equipment engineering or school related projects
Knowledge of industry process or equipment development
Familiar with process/quality/cost control and improvement tools e.g. SPC, DOE, FMEA, MCV
Problem analysis and problem solving skills.
Project management skills and practices.
Industrial engineering skills
Judgment and decision making.
Strong oral and written English communications skills.
Good team player with technical curiosity
