Hainan announces plans for 450,000 new jobs, business incubators and innovation platforms

450,000 new jobs to be created for local people by 2020 according to government sources.

According to a plan announced on Friday the Hainan government has committed to helping more than 425,000 local residents from rural areas find jobs in cities and maintain the unemployment rate in urban areas to 4 percent or less by 2020.

Plans to build 100 business incubators and innovation platforms to help small-to-medium-sized startups and provide training programs to 3,000 entrepreneurs every year has also been announced.

Hainan will keep promoting its tourism, service and high-tech industries and introduce preferential policies to attract overseas Chinese students and foreign talents.
