Kuroma Yakiniku Japanese Restaurant, located on the fifth floor of Haikou Mixc City, is one of the more upscale Japanese restaurants in Haikou, offering a good dining experience with a few caveats. The service stands out, with staff cooking the food right at your table, adding a nice touch to the meal.
The restaurant is best known for its wagyu beef, but the eel is a highlight—good size, perfectly filleted, bone-free, and cooked just right, (quite possibly the best eel I’ve ever had.)
However, portion sizes of the dishes are smaller than they appear on the menu, which might leave some diners wanting more. The smaller dining rooms feel a bit cramped, with dining tables a little too close to each other, so opting for a larger room is advisable. Overall, the decor and ambience are pleasing, and the service is solid. Expect to spend around 400 RMB for a meal for two adults and a teenager. If you order wagyu beef dishes expect it to cost quite a bit more.
Opening times are from 11:30 – 14:30 and 17:00 – 22:00
