Haikou National Geological Volcano Park (火山口地质公园) is located 15 km to the southwest of Haikou and covers an area of 108 km2 it’s a dormant volcano which last erupted some 11,500 years ago. There are 40 different types of volcano in the Geopark and 30 lava caves with the longest lava tunnel running to more than 2000 metres.
