What Employment Support Policies Are Available for Foreign Talents’ Spouses in Hainan?
If you’re a high-level foreign talent working in Hainan, your spouse is included in special employment placement and support programs.
Spouses of recognized high-level foreign talents receive treatment matching their level, with dedicated job fairs and services organized by the government to help them find suitable employment opportunities.
For unmarried foreign talents, the government also makes efforts to match them with jobs based on their education, qualifications, and skills.
If a spouse cannot find employment despite these efforts, the government provides a living allowance. This allowance is calculated as a percentage of the local average social wages from the previous year.
To apply for this allowance, the employer must provide proof that the spouse is unable to work and submit the application through the local talent service’s “one-stop” platform.
After initial verification on the platform, the local human resources agency will approve and issue the allowance following the same procedures and standards used for spouses of domestic talents.
