Hainan Province has accelerated the improvement of port service capabilities and efficiency of the shipping route network with the RCEP region.

In the first half of this year, the province completed a container throughput of 1.878 million TEUs, a year-on-year increase of 16%.

In terms of port service capability and level improvement, the Xiaochantan Container Terminal capacity improvement project in Yangpu Port and the S308 Yangpu Outer Exit Road reconstruction project have been completed.

The overall operating capacity and efficiency of the port have been improved. The ship-hour efficiency of Xiaochantan Wharf has increased from 47.5 natural containers/hour to 53 natural containers/hour, a year-on-year increase of 11.6%; the daily operating capacity has increased from 3000TEU/day to 7000TEU/day.

Hainan's route network is improving.

At present, the province has opened 52 domestic and foreign trade routes, including 34 domestic trade routes and 18 foreign trade routes (all in Yangpu Port), connecting Singapore, Vietnam, Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand, the Philippines. Major ports of RCEP member countries such as Australia and Japan have formed a new route for "both domestic and foreign trade, and access to near and far oceans".

It is understood that Hainan Province will deepen cooperation with ports in the RCEP region, focus on strengthening the international transit function, and actively develop international container transit transportation by organizing international transit or direct routes to major ports in Singapore, Vietnam, Australia, New Zealand and other countries, increase business with Guangxi Beibu Gulf Port and other coastal ports, improve the level of freedom and convenience of transportation between Hainan Province and the RCEP region, so that goods can be efficiently and freely circulated in the RCEP "Circle of Friends".
