Location

The Li'an International Education Innovation Pilot Zone is located in the southeast of Lingshui Dai Autonomous county, Hainan province, at 18 degrees north latitude, close to Dong Gaoling, Niubai Mountain, Nanwan Monkey Island, Xincun Lagoon, and Li'an Lagoon. It has a unique geographical location and a very good ecological environment.

Developing Positions

The pilot zone is striving to become a modern service industry and high-tech industry hub, with tourism as the leader. It is committed to introducing first-class education resources at home and abroad, and looks forward to being a national demonstration zone for educational innovation and development as well as an important destination for international students along the Belt and Road.

Its investment targets are:

Overseas high-level universities and independent vocational colleges in STEM, agriculture and medicine;

Chinese-foreign cooperation schools and projects.

Achievements

At present, the Communication University of China and Coventry University in the UK, Beijing Sports University and a university from Portugal, and the Central University for Nationalities and a university from the United States have reached cooperation intentions.

Policies

The pilot zone enjoys a number of preferential policies granted by the Hainan Provincial Government, including the preferential provision of school land by means of allocation or transfer and exemption of teaching and research equipment and instruments as well as imported equipment and materials for infrastructure from customs duties.
