Hainan’s nucleic acid testing fee will be adjusted to 40 Yuan / person from December 9th

The Hainan Medical Security Bureau and Hainan Health Commission jointly issued a notice on the price and cost of nucleic acid testing.

The “Notice” clarified that the in vitro diagnostic kits required by medical institutions for nucleic acid testing are self-purchased, and the maximum guide price for single-person, single-test “new coronavirus nucleic acid testing (including reagents)” is to be adjusted to 40 Yuan per person. 

If allocated by the government, medical institutions are not allowed to charge for in-vitro diagnostic kits for tested persons, and the maximum guide price for single-person single-test of the “new coronavirus nucleic acid test (without reagents)” is to be adjusted to 28 Yuan/person. 

The price of 10-person mixed inspection and 5-person mixed inspection is uniformly adjusted to 10 Yuan/person. 

The price of COVID-19 nucleic acid testing will be adjusted dynamically based on changes in the price of reagents and other costs.

According to the notice, the pricing of third-party testing institutions should follow the principle of “fairness, legality and good faith”. If a public medical institution entrusts a third party to provide nucleic acid testing service according to relevant provisions, the charging standard shall be implemented according to this notice.

Medical institutions providing nucleic acid testing services should set up special windows, open up independent areas, optimise internal management processes, and use electronic or paper free reports to provide the public with nucleic acid testing results push services.

Those who conduct nucleic acid testing shall not require the public to register, it is not allowed to charge outpatient consultation fees, medical service fees or mixed inspection packages to collect single inspection fees.
