23. Laboratory Engineer Specializing in Safety Management

Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee safety operations across Autonomous Driving and Robotics Laboratory
  • Develop and implement comprehensive laboratory safety inspection plans, promptly identify and eliminate safety hazards
  • Ensure safe shutdown of all high-voltage, high-power, and critical equipment after faculty and students leave
  • Manage and supervise electrical equipment safety in specialized laboratories including autonomous driving, robotics, UWB, and other advanced research facilities
  • Assist in establishing and improving laboratory safety management systems and emergency response procedures
  • Regularly organize and conduct laboratory safety education and training programs
  • Record and report safety management activities, assist in handling safety incidents

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or above, preferably in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, Laboratory Management, Safety Engineering, or related fields Regulatory
  • Familiarity with laboratory safety management regulations and standards

24. Laboratory Engineer – Computer Science

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily operations of the Robotics and AI lab, ensuring all hardware (e.g., robotic arms, mobile robots, humanoid robots, LiDARs, cameras) and computing clusters are operational and safe
  • Handle the procurement, inventory, and maintenance of lab equipment and electronic components
  • Set up hardware and software environments for teaching labs and student projects
  • Research & Development: Assist faculty and PhD students in researching and implementing state-of-the-art algorithms in SLAM, VLA and Reinforcement Learning etc
  • Coding: Develop and maintain clean, reusable code repositories in C++ and Python for the lab’s research projects
  • Provide technical support to students and professors during lab sessions and research projects
  • Assist in the preparation of demonstrations for visitors, industry partners, and open days

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Robotics, Computer Science, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree is preferred).
  • Strong proficiency in ROS/ROS2 (Robot Operating System) is preferred
  • Solid coding skills in C++ and Python within a Linux (Ubuntu) environment is preferred
  • Understanding of basic robotics algorithms (Kinematics, Dynamics, Control) and familiarity with Deep Learning frameworks (PyTorch or TensorFlow)
  • Experience working with physical robots (e.g., robotic arms, quadrupeds, or wheeled robots) and sensors (Depth cameras, LiDAR, IMU)

25. Laboratory Engineer – Digital Technologies

Job Responsibilities

  • Maintain, calibrate lab hardware/software; manage DT supplies inventory and replenishment; conduct equipment safety checks and asset management.
  • Implement lab safety protocols; ensure data security; manage environmental hygiene and hazardous materials; uphold zero-accident standards
  • Assist professors with lab course preparation; guide students in code/hardware debugging, digital system testing, and data preprocessing; support cross-discipline tasks; answer real-time experimental questions
  • Update lab records; liaison with suppliers for equipment repair/replenishment; organize lab training; handle booking, schedule reminders, and course arrangement notifications
  • Participate in lab construction/renovation; propose improvement suggestions; introduce new experimental technologies/methods/equipment aligned with teaching and upgrade needs
  • Complete temporary/routine tasks assigned by leaders; comply with lab rules and confidentiality obligations

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or above; majors in Computer Sciences, Software Engineering, Digital Technologies, or software and hardware-related cross-disciplines are preferred
  • Familiar with programming languages (Python/C++/Java), Linux environment, and hardware debugging tools (e.g., oscilloscopes, multimeters); experience with common software tools or hardware operation is a plus; prior lab software/hardware operation or lab course assistance experience is preferred; research experience in software & hardware fields is a bonus
  • Proficient in office productivity tools; familiarity with various lab management software is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail, data security & circuit safety awareness, and ability to follow DT lab protocols
  • Good communication, teaching assistance, and collaboration skills to support software and hardware-related teaching (lab courses) and research tasks
  • Confidentiality awareness to protect experimental code, hardware design data, and sensitive DT project/student information
  • English is required (B2 or above); German is desirable
