Beijing Frontier Research Center for Biological Structure (FRCBS) is currently seeking multiple exceptional Principal Investigators & Postdoctoral Fellows to conduct innovative research in the field of life sciences.
Introduction
Established in 2018 by the Beijing Municipal Science & Technology Commission, FRCBS is dedicated to being forward-looking, fundamental, interdisciplinary and centered around people. Led by world-renowned biologists Professor Yigong Shi as the Director, FRCBS operates at the forefront of research.
Currently, FRCBS consists of 27 independent laboratories, more than 90 postdoctoral fellows, and 200 doctoral students. The center’s research focuses on various structural biology frontiers, including but not limited to method development for revealing macromolecule structures, structural biology of biomacromolecules, structures and roles of disease-associated membrane proteins, epigenetics and chromatin biology, biology of nucleic acids, phase separation of biomacromolecules, pathogenic mechanisms of viruses and antiviral vaccines and agents, and drug development assisted by “molecular structure + AI”.
FRCBS provides a collegiate environment with advanced facilities and extensive opportunities to pursue both basic and disease-centered studies. The center encourages interdisciplinary and collaborative research across Tsinghua University and its associated institutes.
Main Research Fields
1. Research and development of a new generation of cryo-electron microscopes (Cryo-EM) and core technologies
2. Development of new technologies for biological structures driven by AI
3. Discovery and development of innovative drugs based on biological structures
4. Discovery and systematization of frontier knowledge of biological structures
Whom We’re Looking For:
Applicants should possess a Ph.D. or M.D. degree, as well as postdoctoral research experience, and have demonstrated outstanding accomplishments in the areas of biological structure or biophysics research. The recruitment is open now through the end of 2024.
I. Principal Investigators
Initial appointments for Principal Investigators will be for a term of five years, subject to renewal based on performance evaluations conducted by an international academic committee.
