Just over the Hai wen bridge lies the Doubing Pagoda, which is located on the main peak of Qixing ridge, Wenchang.

Water shortage has been a consistent issue for generations in the volcanic region of Shishan. People in the area used to put large pot vats under their roofs to collect rainwater for daily use. With the local terrain being hard volcanic rock it has always been difficult to dig wells.

Nanshan cultural tourism zone is a large scale theme park covering an area of 50 square km. It includes Kwan yin Buddha Park, Cihang Mercy Park,  Jixiang Ruyi Park, Nanshan Temple, longevity Valley, and Nanshan Bay. The Kwan yin Statue is in the Guinness book of records as the highest statue in the world at 108 meters.
