Capture the Beauty of Spring: Hainan’s Scenic Highway Photography Contest

As the new year begins, the “Discover Wonders in Every Season” Hainan Island Scenic Highway Photography Contest has officially entered its spring phase, offering the last chance to participate in this journey of visual storytelling.

Organized by the Hainan Provincial Department of Tourism, Culture, Radio, Television, and Sports, and hosted by the Hainan Tourism Association, the spring submission period is open until March 31st, 2025.

Showcasing Hainan’s Scenic Highway

Launched in April 2024, the contest aims to inspire photographers and videographers to capture the beauty of the Hainan Island Scenic Highway. Often referred to as the island’s “pearl necklace,” this highway encircles Hainan, offering spectacular vistas of natural landscapes, cultural landmarks, and vibrant local life.

The contest has already celebrated three successful seasonal rounds, making this spring submission the grand finale.

Awards and Prizes

This season, the contest offers 50 award slots: 40 for photographs and 10 for videos. Prizes include first, second, third, and honourable mention awards, with a top prize of 5,000 RMB.

How to Participate

To enter, participants can submit their work through the contest’s WeChat mini program. It can be accessed via the “HNTA Hainan Tourism Association” (HNTA海南省旅游协会) official WeChat account under the “Photography Contest” (影像大赛) menu.

Submissions should emphasize elements of the scenic highway that align with the spring theme. Whether you’re capturing floral blooms, cultural festivities, or everyday moments along the route, your work should highlight the unique charm of Hainan during the Spring season.

A Year of Creativity and Inspiration

Since its opening over a year ago, the Hainan Island Scenic Highway has become an inspiration for visitors and creators alike. With its well-developed infrastructure and visitor experiences, the highway has brought renewed energy to local attractions and communities. From cycling events to scenic adventures, the route offers opportunities for creative exploration.

Spring: A Season of Opportunity

From January to March, Hainan’s warm, sunny weather and lush landscapes create the perfect backdrop for springtime excursions. It’s the ideal time to capture the island’s beauty through your lens.

This final round offers not only the chance to win prestigious prizes but also the opportunity to showcase Hainan’s unique allure to the world.
