Fortune Global 500, Shaanxi Coal and Chemical Industry Group officially settled in Haikou Jiangdong New Area

Shaanxi Coal and Chemical Industry Group officially settled in Haikou Jiangdong New Area, with the aim of building Shaanxi Coal (Hainan) International Industrial Centre in the Jiangdong New Area Headquarters Economic Zone (ecological CBD).

Shaanxi Coal and Chemical Industry Group Co., Ltd. (Shaanxi Coal Group for short) is a state-owned super large energy and chemical enterprise developed by the Shaanxi Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government to implement a “Western Development” strategy and develop Shaanxi coal resources.

The group has business operations across many different provinces in China, it owns or has shares in nearly 60 enterprises with total of 136,000 employees.

Its main subsidiary is Shaanxi Coal Industry.

At present, the group has business interests in, coal mining and the coal & chemical industry, as well as coal-fired power generation, steel smelting, machinery manufacturing, construction, railway investment, technology, finance and modern services.

It entered the Fortune Global 500 list for the first time in 2015, and has been on the list for 7 consecutive years.

In 2011, it ranked 158th among China top 500 enterprises and 35th among Chinese top 200 most efficient enterprises and first among Shaanxi’s most efficient enterprises.

In the 2020 Forbes Global 2000, Shaanxi Coal Industry, a subsidiary of Shaanxi Coal Chemical Industry, was ranked as the 805th -largest public company in the world.

In addition to operations in China, the group has invested in a fertilizer plant in Argentina.

Shaanxi Coal (Hainan) International Industry Centre will focus on high-tech industries, international financial services, international energy transactions, international trade settlement, transportation logistics and supply chain, new energy and regional Internet energy industries as well as the modern service industry.

According to a Jiangdong spokesperson, with the advantages of Hainan Free Trade Port policies, the Shaanxi Coal (Hainan) International Industrial Centre will be built into a world-class centre for cutting-edge talents, core technology research and development centre and high-tech industry incubation centre.

The incubation industry will be located in the Jiangdong New Area of Haikou, and contribute the power of Shaanxi Coal to the “Jiangdong Model” of the Hainan Free Trade Port.
