The Haikou Jiangdong New Area is rich ecological resources with 31 kilometres long of coastline and abundant wetland resources, an existing wetland area of about 90 square kilometres, dense drainage network with nine river courses, four canals and four reservoirs. It also boasts a variety of flora species with the coverage of about 96 square kilometers and an ecological public welfare forest area of 20 square kilometers.
The Haikou Jiangdong New Area is adjacent to rivers, the sea and lakes.
It has Dongzhai Port Nature Reserve, known as “Maritime Forest Park”, as well as beautiful coastline resources. The area incorporates rivers, forests, cropland, lakes, grasslands and other ecological environments interwoven with farmland and villages. The ecological & environmental resources are unique and have the potential to build an international coastal riverside garden city.
