Haikou Schedules Citywide Mosquito Control to Prevent Dengue and Chikungunya

Citywide Mosquito Control Scheduled in Haikou: July 29–31, 2025

To protect public health and reduce the risk of Chikungunya fever and Dengue fever, the City of Haikou will conduct coordinated mosquito control operations between July 29 and 31, 2025.

Spraying will take place daily during one of two time slots: 07:00–10:00 or 16:00–19:00, depending on weather conditions.

What Residents Should Know and Do:

We ask for your cooperation during this important public health campaign:

  • Close all doors and windows during spraying hours.
  • Avoid lingering in areas being sprayed.
  • If you notice a chemical odor indoors, temporarily turn off air conditioning or use exhaust fans to ventilate the space.

Important Notice for Aquaculture Farmers:

The chemicals used in this operation can be harmful to aquatic life, particularly fish and shrimp. Please take appropriate protective measures in advance—cover aquaculture ponds or water sources to prevent contamination.

In Case of Accidental Exposure:

If pesticides are accidentally ingested or if you experience any discomfort after spraying, seek medical attention immediately. You may also call the 12345 Citizen Service Hotline for assistance.

We appreciate your understanding, support, and cooperation in keeping Haikou healthy.
