Hainan University teamed up with the Water Resources Department of Hainan Province to raise awareness for water conservation through billboards, animated videos, lectures, and quizzes on March 22, which was also the 29th World Water Day.
The staff of the Water Resources Department of Hainan Province distributed 600 leaflets on water conservation, 300 brochures on water-related laws and regulations, as well as 600 special issues related to March 22-28 China Water Week, while hanging up three banners on HNU’s campus.
World Water Day is an annual United Nations observance day used to advocate for sustainable management of freshwater resources. The theme for this year is “Valuing Water.” United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said, “Let us commit to intensifying efforts to truly valuing water so all may have equitable access to this most precious resource.”
