Haikou airport changes: Transfer airlines and flight plans

Haikou Meilan International Airport phase II will be officially put into operation on December 2

According to the second phase of the Meilan Airport transfer operation plan, Hainan Airlines (HU), China Southern Airlines (CZ), and international/regional flights will operate in Terminal T2, while other airlines will remain operating in Terminal T1.

From December 2nd, Hainan Airlines is expected to have 10 flights entering and leaving from Terminal 2. China Southern Airlines will transfer Haikou – Shenzhen flights to Terminal 2 for operation.

Floor Functions of Meilan Airport Phase II

-1 Floor (B1): High-speed rail station passage
1st floor (F1): Arrival floor
2nd Floor (F2): Express passage for arrivals without checked luggage
3rd floor (F3): Domestic departure floor (check-in area)
4th Floor (F4): International Departure Floor

Check-in areas

There are 5 check-in islands and 110 check-in counters in the T2 terminal. From east to west, they are named A, B, C, D, E.

Hainan Airlines (HU) is located on check-in Island C, C01-C11, which can be accessed from gate 3 of the departure hall, and the business class counter is at C19-C22.

China Southern Airlines (CZ) is located on check-in island D, D12-D22, and can be accessed from gate 4 of the departure hall.

Self-service check-in counters

The self-service check-in area of Hainan Airlines is located near the check-in counter on island C of the departure hall on the 3rd floor.

Special passenger services

Hainan Airlines has set up a special passenger service area in the departure hall on the 3rd floor of T2. Passengers with special travel requirements such as wheelchair services and unaccompanied passengers can go directly to the Hainan Airlines special service area.

China Southern Airlines has set the check-in counter D12 in the Departure Hall on the 3rd floor of T2 as a special passenger check-in counter.

VIP room service: business class, first-class passengers

The VIP Room at Terminal 2 of Meilan Airport is located on the east side of the first floor. It has two courtyard gardens and several VIP lounge areas. There are 42 VIP parking spaces in the courtyard, which can be reached via the exclusive VIP passage.

There are 3 first aid rooms and 1 first aid station in the T2 terminal of Meilan Airport. Passengers and staff can go there according to their needs.

Packing counter

If carry-on items do not meet the consignment standards due to packaging problems, they can be re-packed at the baggage packing area for a fee. The packing counter is located next to gates 1-6 in the departure hall.

The customer service hotline has integrated passenger inquiries, flight inquiries, service complaints, luggage storage services, medical services, missing items search, special passenger services and many other services.
