On January 7, the Education Bureaus for Haikou and Sanya announced in accordance with requirements for epidemic prevention and control work of the Hainan Provincial Department of Education, the 2021 school winter holiday calendar is to be adjusted.
Originally students would be starting their winter holidays on the 23 January. The new date is now adjusted to 15 January.
The new ruling applies to all kindergarten students (including special education schools), elementary and middle schools students in Haikou and Sanya.
During the holiday, students should not return to school to receive their grades and homework, and students should not return for remedial classes.
The next semester will begin according to the school calendar and there will be further notification on any future changes.
The winter holiday still starts on 23 January for senior year high school students and all schools must implement fully closed management and epidemic prevention and control measures.
