30,000 job vacancies in Hainan for global talent

The Hainan provincial government announced on Monday that it will provide more than 30,000 job vacancies for talented individuals from home and abroad this year in a step to gather greater manpower to help build the China (Hainan) Pilot Free Trade Zone (Port).

Hainan received approval from the central government in April 2018 to turn the entire Island into a pilot free trade zone and to explore building a free trade port with Chinese characteristics on the island, which is about 32 times the size of Hong Kong.

Hainan introduced a plan in May 2018, to attract a million talented individuals from home and abroad by 2025, offering them preferential policies including loans, free housing and other welfare arrangements.

This year’s first recruitment plan provides a large number of high-level talent posts from government bureaus, public institutions, State-owned enterprises, industrial parks, legal institutions and private companies, according to a news conference held by the provincial government in Haikou, on Monday.

Government officials said the number of posts provided by modern services, tourism and high-tech industries exceeds 60 percent of the total, with annual salaries for 1,717 high-end talent posts in education, medical treatment and tourism promised to reach 300,000 yuan and those for 59 high-end talent posts promised to be as high as above 1 million yuan.

They said high-end talent is in dire need in Hainan’s key industrial parks such as Boao Lecheng International Medical Tourism Pilot Zone and Haikou Jiangdong New District, where 3,126 positions are open to talented job seekers.

The recruitment plan also offers 470 positions for international talent specializing in foreign language instruction, aircraft flight and maintenance, and hotel management.

All applications are to be made online from March 31 to April 30 this year at http://www.contacthainan.gov.cn.
