According to the Danzhou Municipal Party Committee, with the approval of the Hainan Provincial People’s Government, the 6th Hainan Provincial Games, which was suspended due to the epidemic, is scheduled to resume from December 3rd to 14th.
The opening ceremony will be held on December 3rd and the closing ceremony will be held on December 14th.
According to reports, there will be 16 competitive sports in these Provincial Games, including sailing, windsurfing, boxing, weightlifting, track and field, beach volleyball, surfing, taekwondo, football, golf, swimming, basketball, volleyball, table tennis, badminton and cycling.
The surfing competition will be held in Wanning City, and the other 15 competitions are to be held in Danzhou City.
It is expected that more than 4,000 athletes from 18 cities and counties in the province will participate. There will be 36 mass events and activities in three categories: traditional, fun and ethnic, which will be held in both Haikou and Danzhou.
