June 10 – According to the Haikou Meteorological Observatory, a tropical depression over the South China Sea is expected to strengthen into the season’s first typhoon within the next 24 hours. The system is tracking toward the southeastern coast of Hainan Island and could make landfall on June 13.
As a result, Haikou will face heavy to torrential rain over the next three days. Temperatures will range between 25°C and 32°C, with northeasterly winds at force 3–4.
