Haikou’s online transaction volume exceeds 100 billion yuan in first three quarters of 2020.

According to the Haikou Municipal Bureau of Commerce, Haikou’s online transaction volume reached 117.072 billion yuan, an increase of 2.39% year-on-year, accounting for 70.08% of the province’s online transaction volume.

Around 111,000 e-commerce companies provide employment for around 290,900 people and the number of online parcels reached 44,897,900.

Haikou’s online bulk commodity and B2B online transactions reached 90.134 billion yuan, accounting for 76.99% of the online transactions in the first three quarters.

Online retail sales reached 26.937 billion yuan, an increase of 18.93% year-on-year, accounting for 50.64% provincial total for online transactions, an increase of 5.15% more than the same period last year.

Physical online retail sales reached 23.582 billion yuan and service retail sales achieved 3.355 billion yuan, accounting for 87.55% and 12.45% of online retail sales respectively.

In physical online retail sales, the food and health industry reached 12.457 billion yuan, accounting for 52.82% of the physical online retail sales, an increase of 8.38% more than the same period last year.

The 3C’s “Computers, communications, consumer electronic products” and beauty care achieved a transaction volume of 3.022 billion yuan and 2.296 billion yuan respectively, accounting for 12.81% and 9.74% of physical online retail sales.

Haikou’s online retail sales of agricultural products reached 5.599 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 40.46%.

Among the online retail sales of agricultural products, fruits, teas and aquatic products achieved 4.480 billion, 484 million, and 198 million yuan. They accounted for 80.02%, 8.64%, and 3.54%. The top-selling agricultural products are jackfruit, coconuts and lotus.
