Haikou’s ‘Zizai Bay’ Set for June Upgrade with New Nightlife and Leisure Attractions

‘Zizai Bay’ is a newly coined or promotional name for this specific development

On February 12th, during the Lantern Festival, a fireworks display introduced many residents and visitors to Haikou’s ‘Zizai Bay’. This coastal area is set for a significant upgrade in June, integrating fashion, technology, leisure, and entertainment to create an urban cultural district with expanded nighttime activities, according to developers.

Located along Haikou’s western coastline, ‘Zizai Bay’ offers panoramic views of Haikou Bay and the Century Bridge to the east and the city skyline along Binhai Avenue to the west. Backed by Binhai Avenue and facing the Qiongzhou Strait, the area already houses restaurants and attractions, with new projects underway.

Sun Gaofeng, Chairman of Hainan Nalan Commercial Co., Ltd. (Zizai Bay), shared that 70% of the district’s investment target has been reached. As a diverse coastal entertainment and commercial hub, the district will feature several key upgrades:

  • Music and Art Spaces: Movable stages, city-themed concerts, and street art parades will add vibrancy to the district’s cultural offerings.
  • Fashion and Sports Venues: Plans include indoor seaside tennis courts and high-end outdoor cycling facilities to promote a “sports and social” lifestyle.
  • Night Economy Attractions: Themed areas like “light and shadow streets” and trendy tours will promote an active nightlife scene and extended evening activities.
  • Ecological Spaces: A new pet-friendly park will create a welcoming outdoor leisure space for visitors and their pets.

Many people first discovered Zizai Bay through our fireworks display, said Sun. We plan to continue developing the area’s tourism potential with more cultural events like fireworks shows and drone performances.

Already a popular spot for kite-flying, sunset views, and scenic photography, ‘Zizai Bay’ aims to become a popular destination for leisure, culture, and entertainment along Haikou’s coastline.
