Hainan Airlines is set to inaugurate a new international route from Haikou to Ho Chi Minh City, commencing operations on January 15, 2024. The airline, a key player in Hainan’s aviation landscape, aims to bridge Haikou and Ho Chi Minh City with two weekly round-trip flights on Mondays and Thursdays.
The decision to introduce this route is strategically aligned with the airline’s efforts to expand its international network, marking its first direct flight to Vietnam since the onset of the pandemic.
Vietnam, as one of China’s leading trading partner within the ASEAN region, adds significance to the venture. The Haikou-Ho Chi Minh City route is expected to foster positive economic and cultural ties between the two cities.
The flight schedule includes departures from Haikou Meilan International Airport at 0:35 Beijing time, arriving in Ho Chi Minh City at 01:40 local time, with a flight duration of approximately 2 hours and 5 minutes.
Return flights depart at 02:45 local time, reaching Haikou at 05:55 Beijing time, with an estimated flight duration of 2 hours and 10 minutes. Interested travellers can purchase tickets through various channels, including the Hainan Airlines official website, mobile app, and service hotline.
