Dashi Lane is a 400-meter stretch of ancient bluestone road in Haikou, the only one of its kind preserved in the city, running from Ma'an Street to Zhuyun Road and dating back to the late Ming and early Qing dynasties.

Once a prestigious address for high-ranking scholars and officials, it was home to figures such as Zhong Fang, the "Great Confucian of Lingnan," whose vast 2,400-square-meter complex has since been lost, alongside the residences of Zheng Tinghu, Wu Dian, and Wang Guoxian, whose Lingnan-style home at No. 35 still stands in altered form.

The lane retains a wealth of historic details, an ancient well inscribed "Kanghui Spring Dragon God," rope-worn grooves in the stone, red gates, carved lattices, bronze knockers, and sweeping banyan trees, while at its eastern end, three ancient temples dedicated to goddesses, a horse protector deity, and Song Dynasty loyalist Kang Baoyi serve as active community and festival hubs, together making Dashi Lane a richly layered window into Haikou's scholarly and spiritual past.
