From July to September, the Hainan gastronomic festival will be held all across the island, where residents and tourists can enjoy both Hainan delicacies as well as foreign cuisine.
According to the Hainan authorities, in the coming weeks, a beer and crayfish festival, days of Western food, and a hot pot festival will be held in Haikou.
The Hainan gastronomic festival started on July 28th.
During the festival, selected restaurants in Haikou will vie to attract visitors with a various contests and discounts. Free tasting is also expected in some places.
The Hainan Association of Hotel Business and Catering Industry, as well as the Association of Catering Industry of Haikou City, are supporting the festival.
The opening ceremony was attended by employees of about 100 of the largest restaurants in the city and across the island.
