I’m Klaudia Anna Misztal from Poland

I'm Klaudia Anna Misztal from Poland and I am an undergraduate student of Chinese language at Hainan University

My Chinese name is Anna, I am from Poland, and I am an undergraduate student of Chinese language at Hainan University. Hainan University has become my home since 2020.

Before coming to Hainan, I also studied at East China Normal University in Shanghai and Central China Normal University in Wuhan. I chose a Chinese language major because I think Chinese will be more and more important in the future.

Learning Chinese is an interesting process. It is a very special and interesting language course. The hardest part for me was the tones and writing Chinese characters. We need to work hard to learn Chinese well.

I like Hainan University very much because the conditions it offers students are very good. Our dorms have balconies, bathrooms, washing machines, water heaters, air conditioners and more.

Living conditions are good. There are many canteens in Haidali, and each canteen has a variety of dishes, including Chinese food, Western food, and some Hainan specialties like Qingbuliang.

I have never tasted Hainanese specialties before I came to Hainan.

Not only are our classes very interesting, but school activities and university life are also very colorful.

We have the opportunity to meet many friends from different countries and get a feel for their culture. I think it is very worthwhile to study at Hainan University. Life is very convenient, without the fast pace of big cities. The environment is also very beautiful.

I can see good weather almost every day and I also go out for a walk and see beautiful scenery.

The air in Hainan is clean and fresh, and also the sea is next to Hainan University. Haikou’s most famous building, the Century Bridge, can be seen from our campus.

We can drink fresh coconuts every day, eat tropical fruits, and cherish and enjoy good reading time.

There are beautiful beaches and parks near Hainan University. There are night markets and snack streets at the North Gate and South Gate, which are very lively at night.

The climate in Haikou is very comfortable and suitable for life. Hainan University arranges many activities for international students to allow us to know more about the culture and folk customs of China and Hainan.

You can also meet new friends while attending events. International students here have a happy and rich life.
