Starting March 20, All New Energy Vehicles Entering Hainan Island Must Use Hai’an New Port

Starting March 20, Xuwen Port will no longer handle ferry services for new energy vehicles. Instead, all such services will be managed exclusively by Hai’an New Port.

New Energy Vehicle Ferry Schedule at Hai’an New Port

Hai’an New Port will operate six dedicated ferry shifts daily for new energy vehicles at the following times: 09:50, 11:50, 15:50, 17:50, 21:50, and 23:50. The schedule may be adjusted based on demand.

Ticket Reservation and Arrival Requirements

All new energy vehicles must book tickets in advance through the “Xuwen Port (徐闻港)” or “Qiongzhou Strait Ferry Butler (琼州海峡轮渡管家)” official WeChat accounts.

Vehicles must arrive at the port 2-3 hours before departure.

Vehicles without a reservation will not be allowed to enter the port area.

Ferry Process for New Energy Passenger Vehicles

Check-in and Entry:

Enter the port through the No. 1 small vehicle lane on the east side.

Only vehicles with reservations for a departure within the next 2-3 hours will be allowed through. Others must exit the port.

Security Check:

Passengers and drivers must separate before security screening.

Drivers proceed through vehicle security checks.

Passengers use a designated lane to reach the security checkpoint and rejoin their vehicles after clearance.

Ticket Collection:

After the security check, drivers collect tickets at the booth and proceed to the waiting area.

Waiting Area:

Vehicles and passengers reunite in the dedicated waiting area for new energy vehicles.

If the ferry is docked, vehicles proceed directly to the boarding area at the bow.

Boarding:

Passengers accompany the vehicle to the ferry but board an escort vessel first.

The driver parks the vehicle on the ferry before joining passengers on the escort vessel.

Ferry Guidelines for New Energy Trucks

Reserved trucks must arrive 2-3 hours in advance and enter through the truck inspection channel to wait for boarding.
