Luhuitou Park, “deer turning it’s head” is situated 5 km from downtown Sanya, and it is built on a hill overlooking Dadonghai beach. Luhuitou Park is reportedly one of the best places in Hainan to view the sunset and sunrise and to facilitate tourists the park is open from 7:30 am to 22:00 pm.
“Halley’s Comet” observation station on the mountain offers spectacular panoramic views of Sanya city and Sanya Bay, it is probably the biggest attraction in the park, (try to get there just before the sun goes down).
There are plenty of tame deer in the park and winding paths lead to many more scenic spots that are worth a visit, such as the Deer House, Turtle Heaven and Monkey Mountain.
