On October 30, the Love Blood Donation Center at Haikou East Railway Station was officially opened. It is the second blood donation centre to open in the city this year.
The new blood centre is led by the district government of Longhua and was approved by the people’s government of Haikou City.
The donation centre is designed like a train carriage and is located on Fengxiang West Road, Longhua District, Haikou in the southeast corner of the railway station square, (address in Chinese 海南省海口市龙华区凤翔西路海口东站).
The centre houses a physical examination consultation area, information entry area, preliminary screening area, blood collection area and rest area.
It is equipped with an air purification system and free Wi-Fi and it provides a comfortable clean environment for citizens wishing to donate blood.
In recent years, the Hainan Provincial Blood Center has vigorously promoted the construction of blood donation sites
With the approval of the government of Haikou, the city has planned to set up 12 street blood donation centres, including 7 fixed blood donation centres and 5 mobile blood donation vehicles.
Although affected by the epidemic in the first 6 months of 2020, the supply of blood donated has increased compared with 2019.
