On the afternoon of August 4th, Mr Lin, a 38 year old man who works for Meilan International Airport Cargo Company, came down with a fever and went to the fever clinic at Haikou Fourth People’s Hospital for a nucleic acid test.
At the time of treatment, his temperature was 36.9°C, he had no cough, sputum, chest tightness, shortness of breath or fatigue.
He resides at Yunlong Town Industrial Park, Qiongshan District, Haikou City.
At 2 am on August 5th, a positive nucleic acid test result was reported.
Mr Lin has no recent history of overseas or domestic travel to medium or high risk areas and no obvious history of contact with suspected or confirmed COVID-19 patients.
At present, he is attending the Haikou Fourth People’s Hospital for isolation and treatment and the provincial and municipal CDCs began reviewing the new samples early this morning.
In order to ensure the health and safety of citizens and effectively curb the spread of the epidemic, Haikou City has organized an epidemiological investigation and has adopted temporary closed measures around his work and living places.
Nucleic acid testing will be carried out on relevant personnel and residents are asked not to panic and cooperate with the various prevention and control measures. Haikou city will issue a notification in a timely manner based on the progress and follow-up work.
