4 new Haikou public schools (campuses) will open or increase intake this autumn

August 23rd it was announced that 4 new public schools (campuses) will open or increase intake in Haikou this autumn.

Shanghai World Foreign Language School Affiliated to Haikou

The Haikou School Affiliated to Shanghai Shiwai is a public school funded by the Haikou Municipal Government and commissioned by the Shanghai Shiwai Education Group, a public school subordinate to the June Yao Group.

The school is located in Mei’an Technology City, Haikou High-tech Zone (Xiuying District), with a kindergarten, elementary school, junior high school and high schools, providing a total of 4,360 student positions.

The first, second, and third grades of the elementary school will each have 6 classes, enrolling 45 students providing a total of 810 student positions.

The first grade of junior high school will have 6 classes, each enrolling 50 students, with a total of 300 student positions; 210 positions are available in kindergartens.

East Campus of Haikou No. 26 Primary School

The East Campus of Haikou No. 26 Primary School is located in Qianpo Road, Longhua District, and is a newly built campus. This year they plan to enrol 300 students in first grade of elementary school.

Haikou Affiliated School of Beijing Normal University

The Haikou Affiliated School of Beijing Normal University is located in the living area south of Baiju Avenue, Jiangdong, Haikou City.

The primary and junior high schools of the project were officially put into use this autumn.

According to a school’s spokesperson, this year the first grade of elementary school will open 6 classes, offering 270 student positions; the first grade of junior high school will open a total of 12 classes, offering a total of 540 student positions.

The first grade of the elementary school enrolled 240 students last year, an increase of 30 positions.

Hainan Baiju School Yehai Branch

Hainan-Baiju-School-Yehai-Branch

Hainan Baiju School Yehai Branch covers an area of 59 acres and is directly under the Haikou Municipal Education Bureau.

According to Peng Tao, the principal of the school, the branch school will be mainly used as a middle school campus for Baiju School to provide good educational resources for students in the area.

16 classes are to be enrolled in the first grade of this year. 750 students enrolled last year, 50 student positions have been added.
