, Orchid World Sanya is the worlds largest orchid theme park and it's situated in Tianya Town. The park is home to an estimated 3,000 species of orchid totaling over 2 million orchids in total, 300 of which are rare wild species. There are 8 scenic zones in the park, tree-growing zone, rock-growing zone, orchid corridor, wild orchid valley and 4 more.
West Island lies 7 km to the west of down town Sanya. With an area of just over 2.5 square km it's the second largest island in the area. With waters up to 20 metres deep in places it's a haven for marine life and there's a huge diversity of aquatic animals. Water sports, fishing, diving, water skiing etc. are all available.
Sanya Bay, a 22 km stretch of beach lies that right on the edge of downtown Sanya. The beach is lined with coconut trees forming the crescent shaped coconut corridor. The area is fully stocked with high-end resorts.
Dadonghai is a crescent shaped beach that's extremely popular with tourists. There is an annual temperature difference in Sanya of about 15 °c with summer temperatures in the region of 25°c to 29°c and winter temperatures about 16°c to 24°c and sea temperatures rarely fall below 20°c, giving the area a reputation for being a swimmers paradise.
Luhuitou Park, "deer turning it's head" is situated 5 km from downtown Sanya, and it is built on a hill overlooking Dadonghai beach. Luhuitou Park is reportedly one of the best places in Hainan to view the sunset and sunrise and to facilitate tourists the park is open from 7:30 am to 22:00 pm.
Wuzhizhou Island, Sanya (or the Island of Love) is a popular tourist destination with mainland Chinese. It's a natural haven for marine life and is also a coral reef protected zone with a reportedly under water coral coverage of 72.5%.
Tianya Haijiao, The End of The Earth or even "The love rock", is featured on the back side of the 2 Yuan note. The story goes that in ancient times, two young lovers eloped when their parents disapproved of their marriage, realising that they were about to be caught with no way to escape they jumped into the sea together.
