The grand opening concert of the Hainan Island International Music Festival is scheduled for December 10th at 7:30 in the Music Hall of the Haikou Bay Performance Arts Centre.
During the opening ceremony concert, the Hainan Island International Music Festival Orchestra will be officially formed, with esteemed international conductor, Mr. Jaap VanZweden, currently serving as the Music Director of the New York Philharmonic and the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, leading the performance.
Mr. Jaap VanZweden will collaborate with the Artistic Director of the 2023 Hainan Island International Music Festival, renowned pianist, Ms. Wan Jieni.
The program will include some of Beethoven’s most influential and appreciated works: the “Egmont Overture,” “Piano Concerto No. 3 in C Minor, Op. 37,” “Symphony No. 5 in C Minor, Op. 67” (also known as the “Fate Symphony”), and an encore featuring a Chinese composition.
