Haikou Jiangdong New Area Airport Industrial Park Economic Zone (AEZ) Planning Scope:
The total planned area for the AEZ is 50.60 square kilometers, which includes 17.57 square kilometers of airport land from the Nandu River Highway in the northeast, to Lingshan Avenue – North Meiling Road – Haiyu Avenue in the west, and the ring expressway in the south.
The AEZ will focus on airport services taking full advantage of the “Golden Corridor” to build an airport economic zone with open air flow, concentrating on innovative resources with a high-end industry intensive airport economic zone.
The goal is to form an aviation metropolis belt with multiple composite functions and a concentration of international elements creating an airport portal hub.
The Haikou Airport Economic Zone, (“airport” engine in the “one port, two centres”) of Jiangdong New Area, will utalise Meilan International Airport as its core and focus on developing an airport economy driven by the portal hub and guided by the free trade policy to build itself into an open free trade port and a dynamic aviation metropolis.
