On January 8, it was announced from the Provincial Department of Tourism, Culture, Radio, Television, and Sports that in 2026, Hainan Province will host eight marathon events.
The marathons are:
Wanning Marathon (January 25),
Dongfang Half Marathon (November 22),
Lingshui Half Marathon (November 29),
Chengmai Half Marathon (December 6),
Qionghai (Boao) Marathon (December 12),
Danzhou Marathon (December 20),
Haikou Marathon (December 27),
and Hainan (Sanya) Marathon (December 27).
It is understood that the Danzhou Marathon, Haikou Marathon, and Hainan (Sanya) Marathon are certified as A‑level events for both the full and half marathon categories.
