Event overview:

Dates: March 15th – 23rd, 2019

Locations:

The races will take place off the coastal waters of Hainan Island including Haikou Bay, Sanya Bay, Shimei Bay and Lingshui Bay.

Theme of the event: Indulge in March Sailing around Hainan Island.

Competition types:

Venue race + rally, including Haikou Bay race, round-the-island rally, Haikou – Lingshui round-trip rally, Sanya Bay race.

Team groups: 

A total of five groups, including whole circuit group, half circuit group, OP Group, Hobie 16 group and EMBA group will participate.

Competition size: 

There will be 136 participating teams with over 800 participating crew, comprising of 39 full circuit group teams, 21 half-circuit group teams 40 OP teams, 20 Hobie 16 teams and 26 EMBA teams

Event mileage: 

1040 sea miles, of which 580 sea miles are around the island rally, Haikou – Lingshui Rally 460 sea miles round trip.

Organizers: The China Yachting and Windsurfing Association, The Hainan Provincial Tourism and Culture Broadcasting and Sports Department, The Hainan Provincial Department of Commerce, The Hainan Maritime Safety Administration, The Nanhai Rescue Bureau of the Ministry of Transport, The Haikou Municipal People’s Government, The Sanya Municipal People’s Government and The Wanning Municipal People’s Government and People’s Government of Lingshui Li Autonomous County.

To be eligible for the competition sailing boats must be single keel sailing boats.

March 15th       Haikou Registration, Technical Conference (1 day)

March 16th       Haikou venue race (1 day)

March 17 – 19th Haikou – Sanya Rally (West Line, 3 days)

March 20 – 23rd Sanya – Haikou Rally (East Line, 4 days)

Semi-circuit group

March 15th        Haikou Registration, Technical Conference (1 day)

March 16 – 17th Haikou venue race (2 days)

March 18 -19th Haikou – Wanning Rally (2 days)

March 20th        Wanning – Lingshui Rally (1 day)

March 21 – 23rd   Lingshui – Haikou Rally (3 days)

The top 3 for the whole circuit group will be awarded trophies and prizes, with a total prize of 300,000 Yuan.
