On November 29th, a major investment project kicked off in Yangpu, Danzhou—the commencement of operations for the Dazhuang yuan Grand Farm Hainan Central Kitchen’s advanced processing project. The venture, claiming the title of the world’s largest facility for advanced processing of beef and mutton protein with a capacity of 100,000 tons, signifies a significant step forward for the Yangpu International Health Food Port.
The Dazhuang yuan Grand Farm Hainan Central Kitchen’s advanced processing project is the inaugural venture for the advanced processing of imported beef and mutton in Yangpu, Danzhou, following the introduction of the “Overall Plan for the Construction of Hainan Free Trade Port.” Its commencement is anticipated to play a crucial role in propelling the development of the Yangpu International Food Processing Industry.
Grand Farm is a prominent company in China’s beef and sheep industry, encompassing production, processing, and sales channels. They hold a very prominent position in the market and are known for their expertise in the field.
Grand Farm has been a trusted partner of the Alliance Group, New Zealand’s leading red meat co-operative, for almost 25 years. In June this year, Alliance Group And Grand Farm Committed To Further Expansion Across China, the companies, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in Beijing in the presence of New Zealand Prime Minister the Rt. Hon Chris Hipkins.
The MoU outlined a vision to significantly expand the presence of Alliance Group’s lamb, mutton, beef and venison, including its premium Pure South and Handpicked programmes, further into southern China and cities such as Shanghai.
As (reportedly), the largest advanced processing facility globally, capable of handling 100,000 tons of imported beef and mutton protein, the project is well-equipped with advanced processing equipment and technology.
According to a spokesperson, it can efficiently process imported beef and mutton, extracting high-quality protein to manufacture a variety of premium meat products and raw materials. The project holds crucial significance in meeting market demands and elevating the value of the produced items.
Yangpu in Danzhou stands as a driver of the Hainan Free Trade Port construction, prioritising the “Four Leading Sub-Sectors” of healthy oils, meat proteins, health foods, and new consumer foods, dedicated to the International Health Food Port.
With the ambition to build a substantial health food industry cluster, the focus lies on six core functions: advanced processing, smart cold chain, trade circulation, technological innovation, intelligent data, and industrial finance. The food processing industry is expected to further solidify its position as a billion-dollar health food industry cluster, creating a new hub and standard for the convergence of international health food elements.
Zhang Zhe, the Executive Vice President of Yangpu International, shared that the launch of the Dazhuang yuan Yangpu project has attracted attention from over 10 global food processing giants, including JBS, Minerva, Marfrig, and VDL from the Netherlands.
The Dazhuang yuan Yangpu project development capitalises on the policy advantages of the Hainan Free Trade Port, such as the “Double Fifteen” income tax, duty-free processing value-added tax, and zero tariffs on production equipment.
Yangpu aims to establish an international food processing industry with a production value surpassing 500 billion in 3-5 years. Looking ahead, there are expectations of forming a substantial industrial cluster within the Hainan Free Trade Port.
