In an effort to enhance the duty-free shopping experience for island-bound tourists, Hainan Island has introduced that the "Guarantee Delivery" and "Instant Purchase and Pick-up" methods are now available for tourists purchasing duty-free goods from Hainan's duty-free shops.

In a move aimed at supporting the development of the Hainan Free Trade Port as an international tourism and consumption centre, the duty-free pickup point for travellers departing Hainan Island by rail and, or, ferry will open on March 23rd at Haikou South Port (海口南港), according to the Hainan Daily.

According to reports, Hainan Airlines' Haikou-Singapore international route is scheduled to operate one round-trip flight every Wednesday before the start of April, with the frequency increasing to three round-trip flights every week starting from April 2nd.

A weekend at Yunshe Songtao is a nice break away to recharge the batteries whether for families, couples or even small groups. At the time of writing, it’s still undergoing development with the first phase having been completed and accepting tourists.

Flight number HU7940 will take off from Haikou every Monday at 09:10 and arrive in Bangkok at 10:30. The return flight, number HU7939 will take off from Bangkok at 11:30 and arrive in Haikou at 14:45.

The city’s leader John Lee announced that Hong Kong will hand out 500,000 air tickets, saying it was “probably the world’s biggest welcome ever.” Lee also highlighted a number of events coming up including the Rugby Sevens and a city marathon.
