A recent announcement was made by the Haikou Meilan International Airport to cancel nucleic acid testing for passengers travelling to Beijing from Hainan Island.
The new measures fall in line with a notice made by the epidemic prevention and control headquarters and are due to the domestic situation getting better in Hainan.
As Hainan Province risk areas have been cleared for more than seven days, the decision has been made to cancel the nucleic acid test certificate check for passengers leaving the island to go to Beijing. The new ruling came into effect as of August 31, 2021.
Sanya Phoenix International Airport and Boao Airport also issued statements and will follow the same ruling in regards to cancelling the nucleic acid testing for passengers wishing to travel to Beijing from Hainan.
Haikou Meilan International Airport would like to remind passengers to still wear a mask and take care of personal protection when traveling by plane, and cooperate with the on-site staff to carry out body temperature testing and health code inspections.
