2024 Work Calendar Released: Should Your Holiday Overtime Earn You 200% or 300%?

As we approach 2024, anticipation is building for the upcoming Spring Festival, with an extended 8-day holiday. The burning question for anyone who may have to work during the holiday is how will overtime pay be calculated? Look no further, as the 2024 ‘Overtime Pay Edition’ calendar has just been released!

Overtime Pay Guidelines

If staff are required to work on regular rest days without the option for compensatory rest, they are to receive no less than 200% of their regular salary. For those working on statutory holidays, the compensation will not be less than 300% of their regular salary.

New Year’s Day (January 1): Enjoy a day off, extending the weekend.

Tomb-Sweeping Day (April 4 to 6): A 3-day break, with work resuming on April 7 (Sunday).

Labour Day (May 1 to 5): A 5-day break, with work scheduled on April 28 (Sunday) and May 11 (Saturday).
