Hainan Airlines Doubles Haikou – Hong Kong Flights From Mid-Aug 2024

Hainan Airlines is significantly expanding its Haikou-Hong Kong service starting in August 2024. Originally launched on November 16, 2022, as the airline’s first international/regional route resumed post-epidemic, the Haikou-Hong Kong flight has seen positive reception.

To accommodate growing demand and enhance connectivity, Hainan Airlines will add a second daily flight to this route from August 12, 2024.

Expanded Flight Schedule

With this expansion, passengers will benefit from increased flexibility and more flight options. The new schedule will include:

  • Morning Flight: HU707 departs Haikou at 07:50, arriving in Hong Kong at 09:05. The return flight, HU708, will leave Hong Kong at 10:10 and reach Haikou at 11:30.
  • Afternoon Flight: HU705 continues as scheduled, departing Haikou at 14:25 and landing in Hong Kong at 15:45. The return leg, HU706, leaves Hong Kong at 16:55 and arrives in Haikou at 18:20.

Both flights will be operated using Hainan Airlines’ Boeing 737-800 aircraft, providing a reliable and comfortable travel experience.

Ticket Pricing and Baggage Allowance

For passengers planning to travel on the newly expanded route, return flights are priced at 1,100 CNY, (at the current exchange rate), inclusive of taxes and fees. Economy class passengers are entitled to one free checked bag, while business class travellers are allowed two free checked bags. In addition the airline offers options for preferred seat selection and potential upgrades.

Booking and More Information

Tickets for the Haikou-Hong Kong flights can be purchased through multiple channels including Hainan Airlines’ official website, mobile app, WeChat public account, or by calling their service hotline at 95339.

This route expansion underscores Hainan Airlines’ commitment to bolstering economic, trade, tourism, and cultural ties between Hainan and Hong Kong, while supporting the growth of the Hainan Free Trade Port. With the addition of the second daily flight, travellers can now enjoy greater convenience and flexibility when flying between these two regions.
