Haikou Foreign Affairs Office Looking for Volunteers!

From the Haikou FAO: "We need you!"

Currently, our fight against the Covid-19 pandemic is entering a critical stage. In order to mobilize local volunteers with foreign language skills to provide much needed services to foreigners in Haikou in a scientific, orderly and professional way, Haikou Foreign Affairs Office is now recruiting volunteers across the city for foreigner-related pandemic prevention and control tasks.

What does volunteering entail?

You will assist public health and security authorities as well as residential communities in providing essential pandemic-related services and management for foreigners (in Haikou).

What we are looking for in volunteers.

Be healthy in body and mind and have a basic understanding of Covid protection measures.

Able to speak both Chinese and at least one other foreign language; have a good awareness of the culture of the language(s) in which you speak and be able to communicate effectively.

Have strong organizational skills; willing to be a team player, highly responsible to the task and follow directives from team leaders.  

Who can apply?

Chinese students enrolled at local universities and employees of either public/private sector organizations who are able to speak at least one foreign language with reasonable proficiency with a good awareness of the culture of the language(s) in which they speak and have a basic awareness of Covid protection measures.

Foreign students and residents in Haikou who care about Haikou and wish to contribute to Haikou’s future development.

How do I sign up? Will there be training?

Download and fill in the “Haikou Foreigner-related Pandemic Prevention & Control Volunteer Application Form“. Once you have filled in the form, save the form with your name and language(s) as the file name.

Send the form to 461480621@qq.com, no later than April 20. (Name of contact person: Ms.Yuanqiu Wang, Tel:13518827330)

Once the applications have been checked by the Haikou Foreign Affairs Office, eligible candidates will be contacted by phone.

Training will be organized and conducted by the Haikou Foreign Affairs Office. You will be notified of the time and date of training in due course. Thank you, and stay safe.
