The Haikou National Geological Volcano Park is located 15 km to the southwest of Haikou city and covers an area of 108 square km.
It’s a dormant volcano which last erupted some 11,500 years ago. There are 40 different types of volcano in the Geopark and 30 lava caves with the longest lava tunnel running to more than 2000 metres.
At 222.8 meter’s this is the highest point in Haikou. On a clear day, you can see downtown Haikou. It’s also a great spot to view down into the volcano crater.
