The 2022 (2nd) Hainan Brocade and Embroidery World Culture Week will be held in Haikou, from March 12 to 16.
With a theme of “Inheriting, innovating, and creating a brilliant world,” it aims to create a regional ethnic handicrafts exchange platform and promote Hainan’s traditional culture.
At the opening and closing ceremonies of the culture week, attendees will enjoy two Li brocade fashion shows in swimwear and full dresses.
The 2022 intangible cultural heritage (ICH) weaving, embroidery, printing, and dyeing skills exhibition will open in Haikou on March 12.
Brocade and embroidery work from various countries, as well as from the local Li ethnic group will be displayed during the event.
The exhibition will extend its closing time to 9 p.m. every day, allowing more visitors to experience the charm of traditional culture.
In addition, a Hainan ICH promotion conference will be held on March 12, focusing on promoting the province’s tourism, cultural, and sports resources, as well as free trade port policies, providing investment opportunities for enterprises to explore.
