2024 ILCA Class Asian (Open) Sailing Championships December 11 to 20 in Haikou

The 2024 ILCA Asian (Open) Sailing Championship is set to take place from December 11th to 20th at the Haikou National Sailing Base. This year’s event will be the biggest yet, with 250 competitors from 17 countries and regions around the world.

This prestigious sailing championship is one of Asia’s most important events in the sport, featuring three different sailing classes: ILCA7, ILCA6, and ILCA4. Of note, the ILCA4 class is part of the Asian Games, while the ILCA6 (women’s) and ILCA7 (men’s) classes are Olympic disciplines.

Many of the participants are competing for qualification spots in the 2025 World Championships.

Event Details

The 2024 ILCA Asian (Open) Sailing Championship is jointly organized by the ILCA Asia Association, the China Sailing and Windsurfing Association, the Hainan Provincial Department of Tourism, Culture, Radio, Film and Sports, and the Haikou Municipal People’s Government. The Haikou National Sailing and Windsurfing Training Base is co-hosting, and the event is being operated by Hainan Zhang Times Sports Culture Media Co., Ltd.
