The Chengpo River stone mortar group is located in the upper reaches of the Wanquan River, it is a rare geological feature, the size and shape of which has been formed by the fast flowing river current.
The stone mortar group is the work of hundreds of thousands of years of erosion by nature’s elements.
According to local villagers, the river has two landscapes every year. When there is little rain in spring and summer, these exposed stones can be seen; when the rainy season hits in autumn and winter, these stones will be submerged by the river water, turning it into a large lake.
You can visit the river anytime but it is advised not to get into the water as there are some hidden currents which are dangerous.
