Haikou’s Xiuying District is set to usher in the Lunar New Year with its first-ever Spring Festival Goods Festival, commencing on January 26th.

Aimed at creating a festive atmosphere for the Spring Festival, the festival is scheduled to run until February 8th, at Nanguang Centre Square, Yongwan Road, Xiuying District (秀英区永万路南光中心广场).

The goods festival is anticipated to host 100 booths across five main areas, featuring a Spring Flower Market and New Year Goods Market with a focus on the Year of the Dragon theme.

The Chinese word for tangerine, 橙 (chéng), sounds similar to the word for “success” or “good luck” (成 chéng)

Incorporating Haikou’s distinctive features, the event seeks to offer visitors a unique shopping experience, distinguishing itself from traditional Spring Festival markets.

Offerings will include a Spring Flower Market with 30 booths including potted plants and fresh flowers …

Offerings will include a Spring Flower Market with 30 booths offering tangerines, potted plants, fresh flowers, New Year paintings, and festive banners.

The Goods Festival plans to introduce government-issued consumer vouchers. Collaborations with various establishments, including restaurants, supermarkets, retail merchants, scenic spots, and nearby hotels, will offer a range of discounts.
