Ireland invited to be Guest Country of Honour at 4th China Int’l Consumer Goods Expo 2024

The China International Consumer Products Expo, a pivotal event showcasing the intersection of Chinese and Irish trade and collaboration, was held in the heart of Dublin on December 6th. Attended by a distinguished assembly of over 50 participants, including representatives from the Irish Department of Foreign Affairs, the Irish Department of Agriculture, the Irish Chinese Overseas Investment Association (ICAOI), the Association of Chinese Enterprises in Ireland (ACEI), and key enterprises like Bank of China (Europe) Limited Dublin Branch, Powerscourt Distiller, and Great Northern Whiskey Distillery, the expo emerged as a significant platform for fostering economic ties.

Deputy Minister of  the Ministry of Commerce Sheng Qiuping, in his opening address, announced Ireland’s honoured role as the Guest Country of Honor for the upcoming 2024 China International Consumer Products Expo, extending a warm invitation for Irish enterprises to actively participate in this prestigious event and other significant exhibitions like the China International Import Expo and China International Fair for Trade in Services.

Chinese Ambassador to Ireland, He Xiangdong, underscored China’s status as one of the fastest-growing markets for Irish consumer goods exports, emphasising the increasing allure of the expansive Chinese market for businesses worldwide. Against the backdrop of the 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Ireland and China, Ambassador He expressed hope for more Irish companies to penetrate the Chinese market through exhibitions and asserted China’s commitment to elevating Sino-Irish economic and trade cooperation to new heights.
